First off we would like to say a BIG thank you to Tina Jo and Dawn who have a  rescue ranch here in Punta Banda, (you can find them at http://tinajospromise.org/) for referring us to their good friend Carol. We took in their horse Jalapeno who is in training at the moment. We have become great friends with them, and appreciate all their support and referrals.

Carol came out with her granddaughter who is 9 years old today for a horseback riding lesson here in Ensenada. Her granddaughter Rachel is visiting from CA for 2.5 weeks.  She had ridden before with friends and family in CA. She had knowledge of how to approach the horse, brush her, saddle her up, and learned how to bridle and unbridle her horse. Rachel  became a pro in no time, she’s a very fast learner, and is going to be going on a couple trail rides with us.  Way to go Rachel! We move at your pace, and when you feel comfortable we move onto the next level. Rachel was having so much fun her grandma couldn’t pull her away from the horse.

Come out for a lesson, a  trail ride or both! Here at Desert Trails, kids not only learn the safety of being around a horse, how to care for them but also the responsibility of putting away all the tack and grooming supplies when done. It’s a fun filled, responsibility learned lessons over here at our stables. The children have a great time, as do the adults for that matter! With a view of the ocean and Ensenada harbor, a gentle breeze…..what a fantastic day while the kids are learning to ride and be safe around a horse before heading out on a trail ride over looking the bay.
