Jalapeno arrives in Ensenada Mexico

Jalapeno getting ready to come out of the trailer

While we were out at Punta Banda doing our segunda sale, we dropped the trailer off at “Tina Jo’s promise” rescue ranch here in Baja. We were a little worried Jalapeno wouldn’t go in right away, but he was great and walked right in the trailer like an old pro. He had the long ride back to our small stables in Ensenada where he would soon meet his new stable mates.

Jalapeno made himself right at home with the other horses. He is very curious, friendly.  the other horses treated him like he’s been here all along. I’m sure they will do just fine together. Tomorrow we are going to let them all run out in the field to play together.

We going to take Jalapeno and Cherokee out for his first trail ride this weekend together and see how he does. Dawn from “Tina Jo’s rescue” said he has been ridden and does real well, but is probably what we would call “green broke” we like to make sure all our horses are safe and have plenty of experience before putting riders on them. We are confident he will do just fine going up the mountains overlooking the bay of Ensenada.

We plan on keeping in touch with Dawn at “Tina Jo’s rescue” and adding more horses to our stable as we grow from their great rescue ranch in Maneadero. We will be occasionally taking their horses out for trail rides also just to get them out and more experienced. Come out for a breathtaking view of the Todos Santos Isands or a ride on the beach here in Baja CA.
